Tema: Steven "Zugwat" Silverman got his fill of poker
Steven "Zugwat" Silverman is featured in an interesting story on Washington Post, depicting his story of a poker prodigy who dropped out of school and won more than a million dollars, and then, totally worn out by the poker lifestyle, went back to his studies.
Instead of $10,000 call or fold decisions on the river, these days Silverman is fretting over his organic chemistry grades at the University of Maryland - and he says he's much happier now.
As a kid, Silverman was obsessed with Nintendo, skateboarding, then guitar. Finally he found poker as a 15-year old and asked his brother to set up an online account for him. The game proved to be his most lucrative obsession but it came with a price. Ironically, Silverman says he came to realise that even for a winning player, poker was a relentless rat race.
"Looking back, what I've figured out," he says to Washington Post, "is that no matter the amount of money poker players win, they still want more. You're never happy."
